Client Based Services

Advocacy Program

This program provides direct one-to-one assistance services to our clients via our case management and mentoring services. Through this program, we provide information, referrals, assist our clients in accessing services, i.e., eligibility requirements, what documents to bring, how to present their circumstances, etc. We aid in completing forms such as Maryland Energy Assistance, Maryland Property Tax Relief, Renter’s Tax Rebate, Social Security forms, other benefit forms and any other Federal, State or local forms. We advocate on behalf of our clients with landlords, utility companies and other vendors. We provide referrals for workforce development services, financial literacy services and any other partners’ programs. Referrals to our partners for services are followed-up and monitored.

Client Assistance Fund

This is our emergency cash assistance program (safety-net). Each client who qualifies is provided financial assistance based on their need and the agency’s budget. The amount of funds available to each client may be modified at any time within the fiscal year. The Client Assistance Fund benefit provides cash assistance to help prevent eviction, foreclosure, loss of utilities, aid in heating cost, medical needs and other day-to-day expenses. Clients must demonstrate need and are completely evaluated to ensure information is verified. All services provided to our clients are entered and maintained in the Link2Feed database.

Chapel Hill Senior Living Home

We provide a safe, secure, comfortable and stable living environment for senior citizens. The Senior Home is located right next door to the CSS office. It is a white, two-story home with a porch, small deck in the rear and a good size backyard. The House is currently rented to four independent living male senior citizens. Each has their own room and share the common areas. The rent is on a sliding scale. CSS provides supportive services to our residents and our Chapel Hill Senior Home Committee visits the house on a regular basis to ensure compliance with standards. Due to the proximity to the office, the gentlemen have formed relationships with the staff and Board members. Residents also participate in a number of our Annual functions.
